ADAP Advocacy Association to Join AIDS Advocates in
South Carolina to Support “Rally to End AIDS”

For Immediate Release

WASHINGTON, D.C. (January 21, 2008) – The ADAP Advocacy Association, also known as aaa+, today announced that it will be supporting the “Rally to End AIDS” being held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  The rally is being staged prior to the Congressional Black Caucus-sponsored Democratic Presidential debate.

“We’re participating to help raise awareness about HIV/AIDS in America,” summarized Bill Arnold, Executive Director of the Title II Community AIDS National Network (TIICANN) and aaa+ board co-chair.  “AIDS issues have thus far not received the level of attention they deserves among the presidential candidates of both political parties, so it is our hope that the Rally to End AIDS will help to change this problem.”

“We applaud the Campaign to End AIDS for organizing this important event, and aaa+ is pleased to lend its support,” aaa+ CEO Brandon M. Macsata stated.

The Rally to End AIDS is being organized by the Campaign to End AIDS.  The purpose of the rally is to give access to quality care, get science-based research, improve prevention tools and end stigma and fear for all.  Endorsers/Supporters include: 08 Stop AIDS, Action AID, ADAP Advocacy Association, AID Upstate (SC), The A_ya Center (TX), AIDS Action In Mississippi, AIDS Care Center for Education & Support Services (VA), American Medical Students Association, Aspirations (LA), Careteam (SC), DC Fights Back, Drug Policy Alliance (DC), DUKE (SC), Health GAP, Housing Works (NY/DC), Howard University, The LaSima Foundation (TX), National AIDS Housing Coalition, Our Place (DC), Palmetto AIDS Life Support Services (SC), Prevention Justice Mobilization, SisterLove (GA), and Title II Community AIDS National Network.
